Q: What is the proper way to dress for a Lodge
meeting? This question has come up quite a few times
due to the influx of so many new members. Here then, is the dress
code for Dayton Lodge.
For ordinary stated meetings, the dress
code is coat and tie. Dayton Lodge is a formal Lodge, meaning
we usually wear suits, or a jacket and tie to meetings and all
events and functions unless otherwise stated.
On the schedule
you will see certain nights with "BC" listed on certain
dates. This is Business Casual. Business casual means slacks,
a sport shirt, and casual shoes. We discourage blue jeans and
athletic shoes.
BC nights originated in 2003 during RWB Walt
Barner's year as Worshipful Master. Occasionally, we want to
loosen up somewhat, especially if we are having an event such
as euchre and pool night.
In spring and fall, when the weather
is still warm, the Lodge room is warmer. There is no air conditioning,
and this room can become miserably hot. This too is a time and
reason to have BC meetings.
Q: When do I wear a tuxedo?
Officers
are required to wear a tux for all EA and FC degrees, or at the
discretion of the WM for special meetings or events. Past Masters
are required to wear a tux for certain events such as our annual
inspection, again at the discretion of the WM.
Q: Due to work
or some other circumstance I don't have time to change. Can I
still come to Lodge?
Absolutely, unequivocally, yes. Simply
tell the WM your circumstances and do not give this another thought.
We want you, as a Brother at Lodge meetings, not your clothes.
Q:
Can I purchase a Dayton Lodge shirt?
Yes, see RWB Walt Barner,
or contact use HERE.
