The Acacia tree is native to warm climates. More than 1300 species are spread around the world, about 950 of them native to Australia. The rest are spread around the warm temperate climates of both hemispheres, including Africa, Asia, and the Americas. There are about 12 varieties of Acacia in California.

Acacia, one of the most significant symbols in Freemasonry, can be traced back centuries as a mark of eternity. There is speculation that placing flowers at the head of a grave could have originated from this custom.

Lodge Charter

October 21, 1847
The grand Lodge of Ohio met in Zanesville and granted a charter to Dayton Lodge No. 147. The first Worshipful Master of Dayton Lodge was WB John Sayer.
